I grew up living in the countryside a long way from the sea but in a way the quiet, empty spaces of my childhood, living in a sparsely populated rural landscape, has made me feel at ease living so remotely now.

Every year the beautiful fishing village of Pittenweem becomes a vibrant creative destination with art appearing in homes, studios, gardens, garages and a host of other unexpected locations. This year more than 190 artists exhibited across the village.

The Summer Exhibitions are well under way:)

I'm at day 90 of #The100dayproject 2026 ...although I'm slightly out of step this year! It doesn't help that I started at the wrong time and there have been many distractions preventing me from doing a daily sketch but I'm determined to make it to the end:) Only ten sketches to go!

During the summer of 2023 Resipole Studios hosted the first solo exhibition of my work. MARA brought together a collection of landscape paintings inspired by the west coast of Scotland and it was amazing to see my work fill one of the gallery spaces. It was a little bit daunting too, because each painting represented a very personal interpretation of, and an emotional reaction to the landscape.
